IIRC, the II uses a different processor, and maybe DSP, due to non-availability of the original version's parts. Therefore it also uses different firmware and monitoring software. I do know that the original did not work all that well in my simulcast Phase 2 hell here in Lake County, IL; but the II version works perfectly... as well as our /\/\ APX-7000s we use in EMA.
